Mitsubishi: relays/fuses on Mitsubishi, windshield wipers, dashboard lights

Question
QUESTION: I got an answer from you on checking relays on a Mitsubishi, I was told you could tell if they were bad, but it sounded like they were telling me about fuses, These are like plug ins, it has prongs like an electrical cord so how can you tell when that is bad?
Thanks Amber

ANSWER: On the top of the fuse you should be able to look down see if it is broke in anyway..But sometimes you just cant tell... What is the issue that makes you think that it is bad?

QUESTION: ok, the other person got the first part of my question, so I will tell you again.  after running our car slowly for a little (delivering papers) then cut it off, and tried to start again , it wouldn't start. So we purchased my sone purchased a new batter, he got the wrong one, post were backwards, (- and +) after getting the right battery, nothing electrical would work.  SO we checked fuses, found a few bad ones, changed those and the dashboard lights work and the windshield wipers, but still not the air cond. or windows or seats,The battery ran down again, changed alternator, still will not work, the alternator is not charging. So that is how we got to the fuses under the hood.  Any suggestions?

Answer
I am sorry what type of Mitsubishi? You might have a fusible link on the battery that went bad  If possible ca I get the vin?.. Or if the battery was hooked up you may have damaged the ECU (engine control unit) Send me the vin and I will see if there is a fusible link on the battery cable it self.. Thank you
