Motorcycle Repair: front wheel alignment, front wheel alignment, fxstc

Question
thanks for answering my last question and this my sound a little dumb, but if the rear wheel is in the center of the frame and the forks are center of the frame, how can the front tire be center when the book says measure the left side offset and the right side offset, then subtract the right side from the left and it should be about .560, and if it should be in the center, how can I tell if I have the right rim for a 86 fxstc, i bought the bike used so maybe its the wrong one? thank you for your help

Answer
What the book is refering to is the fact that the front tire is not as wide as the rear. So what that means is the offset on the front tire should be .560 on each side. When you read is its a little confusing. As long as the tire is centered in the forks you will be ok
Good luck and happy riding
