Motorcycle Repair: Honda Rebel key, honda rebel 250, helmet holder

I just bought a 1985 Honda Rebel 250 and the key is missing. Is the key number somewhere on the bike so I can get a key made? Thanx!

Walter, it is stamped on the edge of the ignition switch and underneath the helmet holder unit. You will have to remove either one of those components, in order to see the codes stamped on the items. Take the switch to the key shop/locksmith or an Honda dealer who can cut keys from the code on the parts.
