Motorcycle Repair: Fork seals, http www youtube, honda cb 650

Question
I need to replace my front fork seals on my 1981 Honda cb 650. The manual says take to a dealer. Is this something that can be completed by a home mechanic. If so where can I get instructions. Also what special tools are needed.

Thanks,

Tim

Answer
Tim,

it can be done at home with a little
care. Most of the tools are
common or can be fabricated without
too much trouble.
You will need some metric wrenches,
an allen wrench to fit the bolt
that goes up from the bottom of the
fork leg. A large piece of pvc
or such to drive the new seals in.
some flat screwdrivers
and a wooden vice or padded vice
to hold things.
I suggest watching the you-tube video
I have listed below, it will help
you get familiar with the basic procedure.
Some forks are a bit different
in construction but not alot.
