Question
My clutch wont disenge. When i took the cover off at gear shifter,it looked like the armm that the cable hooked to does not touch the push rod.do you think there is a peice missing or do you think the arm is bent.Any ideas. Thanks

Answer
Ian,

the clutch arm pushes on the clutch push rod.
The push rod should not be bent.

Between the outer push rod and the
shorter clutch push rod inside the clutch there
is usually a little round ball bearing.
If this is missing then the clutch
arm will not reach the push rod.

You can use any ball bearing that will
fit easily in the push rod hole.
First make sure your clutch arm looks
like it is turning okay and is not too worn
where it touches the push rod.
It is possible the ball bearing was lost
or the push rod(s) could be worn down.

It could also be the clutch has rusted or
stuck and the plates will not separate.
To check this the right side clutch cover
has to be removed and the clutch disassembled.
