Motorcycle Repair: Removal of tanks and dashboard on 1973 FLH, center bolt, flh

Question
I need to remove the tanks and dashboard on my 1973 HD FLH - the service manual I have does not give good detail.  How do I remove this original dashboard so I can complete the removal of the tanks?

Remove the center bolt which holds the chrome cover on. If you have a choke knob there, remove the knob so the cover will come off. Once you have it off, drain the fuel, remove the fuel line from the carb and the crossover line. The dash and speedo will stay in place. At the back of the tanks, close to the center of the frame there is a bolt going into each tank. Also there is a bolt going through the front of the tanks and at the bottom of the tanks. remove the through bolts first then the bolts at the back of the tank. Once you remove the bolt at the back of the tank each side will come off
