Motorcycle Repair: Changed my exhaust pipes, fuelpak, exhaust pipes

Question
I've a 2007 XL-1200C.  I just put a set of Vance & Hines Short Shots staggered pipes on the bike, reinstalling the factory O2 sensors.  I haven't replace to air cleaner or added a Power Commander/Fuelpak module yet. A couple questions:

1) Is replacement of both components critical, or can I ride the bike as is ?

2) Which component is more critical to replace 1st, or do I need to do both together?

3) Which module do you recommend - Fuelpak, Power Commander or other?

Thanks,

D

Answer
Adding the pipes probably leaned out the motor, so you need to richen it back up. Riding it is going to depend on how lean it is. to lean and it runs really hot and you take a chance on burning a valve.
If you add the modual and then later add the air cleaner you might have to remapp it again, so i would do both at the same time to save work. If you can only do one, then I would do the modual.
I personnally dont use either one of the moduals you mentioned. I remapp the harley modual so I am not adding anything to the bike. If I had my choice between the two I would use the power commander
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
