Motorcycle Repair: yamaha silverado 1100, passive pollution, pollution control system

Question
I recently bought this bike from a harley dealer, I have put about two hundred miles on it,,I checked the air breather to see if it needed changed and it is wet with oil, in the breather cover i would say there were at least an ounce or more of oil pooled at the bottom. Did I get screwed?

Answer
Not really Almost all engines have at least a passive pollution control system. They take the vent from the engine and feed it into the air cleaner.Along with this air comes oil as a vapor. The air goes away but the oil remains in the bottom of your air cleaner.
