Motorcycle Repair: 1979 Twinstar Carburator, ebay, twinstar

Question
I was given a 79 Twinstar which has not run in 10+ years. I am trying to pull the carb, and the sleeve type throttle valve is stuck. I have oiled it for the last 3 days, and it is not loosening.
Can I use heat on the outside to loosen it without warping the carb body?
Is there a size to this carburetor? I have seen a 22mm carb on ebay for sale, and am wondering if there is a replacement (after market or otherwise).
Thanks

Answer
Jerry,

it's getting tough to find parts
for these. I think because the
carb feeds two cylinders it should
be about 28-30 mm size.

You may have more luck getting the slide loose
with the carb soaked in some good carb cleaner
or at least spray type carb cleaner.

The old varnish from gas needs something
to help it dissolve.

If trying to fit a different carb
you may need to have a manifold
built which could be difficult.

Yamaha makes a good carb cleaner I believe.
