Motorcycle Repair: brake lights, ape hangers, heritage springer

my dad has a 98 heritage springer, back brake light works,but the front does not, put ape hangers on  2years ago,problem just started, wondering if it could be switch on front lever, any Ideas. dont know how switch works on motorcycles

Answer
The switch is a pushbutton switch. When the lever is not pulled the switch is pushed inward. When pulling the lever the switch comes out and makes the light come on. I would check the hot wire to the switch to make sure there is power going to it. If there is then jump across it and see if the light works. If it does then you probably have a bad switch. If there is no power at the switch then you have a break in the wiring going to the switch
