Motorcycle Repair: front end wobble, flstf fatboy, wheel wobble

Question
QUESTION: Hello, Listen I have an 2007 FLSTF FATBOY I had at the time of purchase new Blade Billet Wheels, and the front end changed out with chrome. I have noticed a wheel wobble that seems to be getting more frequent, doesn't happen all the time, just certain speeds and almost always when you take your hands off while coasting.. What ya think.  Thanks

ANSWER: Well, if you have a windshield on your Fatboy, this is Definately the cause, however, if not, then your cause is steering head bearings too loose. with the front end suspended in the air, clutch cable removed, hold the wheel all the way to the left.....it should swing right, left, right, stop. thats what'll tell you if the front end is too tight or too loose.....Technically, the handlebars were made for 2 hands, so when you take your hands off, who knows what can happen. The manufacturer designs the bikes for both hands on the bars...

Hope this helps!

QUESTION: so the center nut tightens the steering head??

Answer
there is a Knureled or slotted nut under the triple tree which is what tightens the steering head bearings, once youve got the proper tension on the steering head, then youll need to re-tighten the top nut. Be sure to loosen the upper triple tree pinch bolts where the tree clapms to the fork tube before doing any bearing adjustments. this will allow the fork tube to slide with the new adjustment. Then BE SURE to re-tighten them as well BEFORE you ride...
