Question
alright i have an 88 suzuki gsx600f just had the carbs cleaned and when i was driving home all it did was smoke out tha exhaust and went through a tank of gas in less than an hour it seems to leak out the exhuast it seems like gas to me. what could be the problem? i was told its bad rings

Answer
Ryan,

did it smoke before the carb clean?
-Check the spark plugs and see if they are
wet or very black from excessive fuel.
Did the bike run okay? Did all the cylinders
warm up?
-check that the choke is not on.
-make sure air filter is clean and clear.
-Could be stuck carb floats or needles if you
smell gas. You can try tapping on the float bowls
to see if it stops the excess gas. It might unstick
a stuck float valve.
-A compression or leak down test can
tell you if the rings are bad.
