Question
Just bought my first moto 1996 Yamaha "Radian" 600
I have never owned one but the chain seems to make clicking sound while riding how do I tighen the chain???

Answer
Mike,

put the bike on the centerstand.
-turn the wheel until the chain is
at it's tightest point. All chains have this.
-remove the cotter pin from the rear axle nut
and loosen the nut.
-on the chain adjusters there will be a locknut,
loosen the locknut.
-notice the alignment marks on each side
of the bike near the axle ends.
-turn the adjuster nuts on each side until the chain has about
20-30mm or about 1"inch of up and down play near the
middle and with the chain at it's tight spot.
-check the alignment marks on each side of the bike,
make sure they are the same.
-tighten the axle nut to 75 ft/lbs.
-replace the cotter pin.
-tighten the adjuster lock nuts.
lube the chain with chain lube.
-double check that the chain is not too tight,
that can damage the transmission, it may tighten
up a bit after you tighten the axle nut but
should still have some up and down play.
