Motorcycle Repair: 03 fxstdi, dipstick, pointers

I would like to due the 10k service myself I have been an tech for nissan and mercedes but not bikes how do i know if the primary chain is properly adjusted and how do i drain and fill the trans?  thank you for your help as I read some of your other answers and already did get a few pointers

To drain the trans look at he bottom of the trans and you will see a plug. remove it and drain. On the side of th trans, right side, you will see the fill plug which is a allen head. remove it  and it will have a dipstick. With the bike sitting upright fill to the mark on the dipstick.
On the primary chain, you should have about 1/2 inch play when cold
