Motorcycle Repair: 1982 hondamatic, 1982 hondamatic, high beam

trying to trouble shoot the headlight on my bike was working
all of a sudden it quit working bought a new light that didnt
fix it tryed the fuse that didnt work either!!1982 hondamatic

It does not work on either low or high beam?  If so, the ignition switch may have developed a bad contact.  Check if the rear light still works, as it can also be affected by this fault.  If the bulb is bad, typically it will still work on either high beam or low beam, depending on which filament is broken.  Also check the connections to the handelbar switches, since that is where the voltage goes through the beam selector switch.  Good luck,  Jan
