Motorcycle Repair: 77 sportster oil leak, engine gaskets, oil leaks

QUESTION: my sporty leaks all its oil when sitting stationary for a while I have checked oil lines and tank and engine gaskets look ok Thinking its comming from oil pump but that is new
any ideas

ANSWER: When you say it leaks the oil, do you mean on hte floor? Where is the oil located when it leaks? does it leak when it running?

QUESTION: the oil drips constantly onto the floor. Even with the oil lines disconnected from the tank the line from the tank to the pump drains oil. I have just renewed them and put the bike off its satnd and oil is all over the frame on the pump side

Answer
If it leaks when its not running, it probably leaks when it is running. Clean the motor so there is no oil. Spray the motor with deoderant that has baby powder in it and start the bike. Where the oil leaks the baby powder will turn black and you can see your leak. It could be your oil pump or cases are leaking
