Motorcycle Repair: Road King trouble, voodoo curse, harley shop

Question
QUESTION: I recently had my 99 RK FLHRI painted which required me to strip down the tank& bodywork. After my re-install the big bike will not fire. The fuel injector/pump is hissing but it appears that no fuel is getting to the motor. Is there air in the injector lines or some Harley voodoo curse for  draining all the fuel out. My local Harley shop as always suggested a $85 dollar per hr. fee to see what's going on. The RK ran great prior to the paint job and has a fuel tank of gas at this time. Any help is greatly appreciated.  JMF

ANSWER: Did you remove the fuel pump when you did the work?

QUESTION: No, I did not remove the fuel pump? Is there something I could do to remedy this problem or will it require some tech support?  Thanks for the info

Answer
Once you have the gas tank installed and fuel in the fuel pump should pump up and flow fuel. The lines might be dry and take several times to pump up. Keep turning it on and off to get the air out. If that doenst work you might have to have it check to make sure that its pumping up and making pressure.
Good luck and happy riding
