Question
QUESTION: Driving along when the transmission & the drive shaft are not connecting. Engine revs, motorcycle lightly wants to go forward, but drive shaft isn't connecting with transmission. Makes loud "grinding" noise towards back of bike.

ANSWER: Troy, Sounds like you have broken gears in the final drive unit where the wheel attaches to the bike..

Hope this helps!

QUESTION: Is this a repair I can do?  If so, where do I go for information on "how to"?

Answer
Hi Troy,
Sorry for the delay...If you can narrow down what exactly the issue is (ie final drive gearcase, I would say if your even slightly mechanically inclined, the answer would be yes, i believe you can do this yourself, however I would suggest buying a Haynes or Clymer manual, many times they are available through eBay...

Hope this helps!
