Motorcycle Repair: Overheating Hayabusa????, wire harnesses, radiator cap

Question
i own a 06' Suzuki Hayabusa, recently i had to remove the radiator and fan to tighten up my exhaust because one of the bolts came off the cupler that holds the 1 of the 4 pipes to the engine and cause a major backfire problems.
But now my fan will not kick on and when it does it does it out of nowhere for a limited time even after the tempature reaches after 1/2 way.
all way wire harnesses are connected like before and i was extra careful when takn out the fan and radiator and filled it back up with extra coolant in the resevoir and radiator

Answer
Jon,

possible causes are:

-air in the system, try rocking the bike
left and right with the radiator cap off
and filling as necessary.

-the fan thermo switch should come on at 221 degrees F
and go off at 212 degrees F approximately.
It can be removed and checked with a thermometer
in a slow heated pan of cooking oil or such.

-the fan thermo switch gets it's power
from the fuse panel, then the other
wire goes to a fan control relay.
This is usually under your top
left cover somewhere, a little black box
with 4 wires. Might just be loose
or corroded.

-the other posibility is a defective thermostat,
it has to stay closed long enough for the
coolant to reach about 180 degrees F.
