Motorcycle Repair: 2000 warrior 350, warrior 350, fuel mix

A friend of mine has a warrior 350 that seems to hit the rev limiter at about 3000rpm. We checked all of the connections and cleaned all of the connectors and everything tests fine with the meter. Do you have any idea what the problem could be??

-have you checked the reverse limiter on the left
case, it needs to be clean.

-Also the parking brake may have a limiter function
as well to tell the bike it is parked.
Check that out.

-If the system thinks the bike is parked
or in reverse it will turn on the limiter.

-is it possibly another problem than the limiter?
Check the spark plug color and see if it
is running ok. Black is too much fuel or restricted
air intake.  Whitish is too hot or lean fuel mix,
Light brown or tan colored is good.
