I have this bike but no manual.  There is a cap as you are sitting on the bike on the lower left side, but not dipstick.  The sight glass is right below it.  Is this the oil and if so, what weight does it use?

Wendy, I suggest that you do find an owner's manual and/or a shop manual for your bike.

As far as I can recall Yamaha has the sight glass with one or two lines, either on the glass or on the case, next to the glass. Oil level needs to be between the two lines or near the center of the glass, in any case. The cap on the case is where you add oil. ALWAYS have the bike on the centerstand or at least held vertically when you are checking the oil level.

I don't know what Yamaha recommends, but most 10-30w MOTORCYCLE oil would be appropriate for your bike.

Check Ebay for manuals or your local motorcycle shop.
