Question 2000 Kaw Drifter. I block air to air filter runs better also better gas milage. Will this hurt my engine any.

some bikes are set very lean when new,
it may help to increase the main jet size.
When you block the air filter it acts like
a choke and richens the fuel/air mixture.
The only damage it can cause is if the mixture
is off it may carbon the engine up.
Check your plugs and see if they are brown (ok)
or black (too rich) If they are running black,
you will get lots of carbon build-up.
There are methods of richening the fuel
without blocking the air filter.
-Larger main jet, -raise the carb slide needle,
-adjust idle screws for best idle.
