Motorcycle Repair: 87 ninja 750 - In gear and going nowhere?, ninja 750, clutch plates

Question
My bike progressively lost power as I was riding it today.  It started on the highway at 100km/hr in 4th gear, rpm revved form 5000 to 7000 without an increase in speed.  From there it only got worse until I was pushing the bike to my brother in laws.  The bike sounds fine and I can put it into gear but no go.  Basically it's like being in neutral.

sounds like the clutch is gone.
Open your oil filler screw and
it will smell like something burnt.
You will have to remove the right side engine
cover to inspect the clutch.
Maybe something came loose, but most
likely has burnt clutch plates which
will need replacing.
