Land Rover Repair: ABS lights on, rotor discs, discovery series

Question
Hi! I am the owner of a LR Discovery 1998, V8, 4.0 L. The ABS light
started to lights very often when I was driving. Last weekend I replaced
the two front rotor discs and the four axle bearing including seals
then the light shown a proper operation of ABS. Everthing was supplied by
Northeast British Parts Shop, so I think all of them are original
replacements.

Today morning light came back again. What do you think it can be the
problem?

Thanks a lot for information!

Ivan

Answer
It's a Disco 1 or discovery series 2?
I think it's the newer. The Disco 2 series has an factroy known problem with the old ABS sensors. They are very sensible to electric noises, and contacting problems. So the factory now deliver a new version of these sensors. The connection removed, you have to change the whole cable to the ECU.

If it's the older discovery than you should knock the sensors down fully. If the sensor can moved than the half-rod joint's bearing is wrong and it pushes the sensor out.
