Motorcycle Repair: mikuni carbs, honda cb360, mikuni carbs

Question
Wayne, I need your help again. I have a 1976 honda cb360T. I recently bought the mikuni 32mm round slide carb kit for the honda cb360. I need to know how to install the new throttle sleeve and 1 into 2 throttle cable. The current sleeve and cable are a stock 2 cable system. I need to know how to install the cable at the throttle end and how to install the 2 ends into the new carbs... Thanks again for all your assistance.

Answer
Jim,
-remove your old carbs and cables.
You have to remove the screws on
the throttle housing and remove the
throttle tube.
-If the new cable is in pieces you
will need to hook the single cable
into the sleeve or junction tube first.

If already assembled, just hook up
your carb cables first.

Put the cable through the top of the carb
cap, pull the cable through and put the carb slide spring
on it. Pull the spring back so you can catch the
end of the cable. Slide the cable end into
the carb slide so it hooks into the bottom,
then slide it up the slot so the spring
goes inside the slide and on top of
the slide needle and the clip that holds the needle.

Try not to mix up the slides.
The slides only go in the carbs one way,
they have a guide pin.

If all goes well, you can try the throttle
end of the cable.
Put it through the front cable hole,
Pull on the cable and push it into
the closest cable hole in the throttle tube.
See if it turns ok. You need to be
sure the carbs can close or you may need to
do some cable work to get enough free play
for the carb slides.
It is hard to describe, but hopefully
I didn't confuse you too much.
