Motorcycle Repair: battery keeps dying, negative battery cable, suzuke

2000 suzuke dr650          i replaced the battery and rectifier and the battery still drains down after 5 or 6 rides  how do i check for a leak or bad wire or something

have you checked the charging output?
It should have close to 13.5 volts on a fast
idle at the battery posts.
If the charging looks okay,
hook a test light between the negative battery
post and the negative battery cable.
See if it lights up, start pulling fuses
until the light goes out, then you
know what circuit the drain is on.
Disconnect on this circuit until
you find what is causing the drain.
An amp meter will work also.
Some small drain may be normal for
bikes with radios, clocks etc.
