Motorcycle Repair: Triumph 600, head bolts, head gasket

Question
Would replacing the head gasket on a triumph 600 require all of the valves to be removed also? how difficult would this be?
thanks

Answer
Brandon,
no, you don't have to remove the valves.
You should be able to remove the head
after removing exhaust pipes, carbs or fuel injection, cam cover,
cam chain tensioner and cam gears, oil lines and head bolts. There may be other things to remove,
basically anything in the way.
You would have to retime the camshafts
when reassembling and torque head bolts.
It would be advisable to have a repair manual
handy to prevent any costly mistakes.
The difficulty depends on how handy you are
with tools. Some Triumphs might need cylinder
sleeves resealed also, the manual is a must.
