Question
i was wondering if you could tell me what positions the two gears or shafts have to be. or if you know of a site that has this info.
thanks for your time. bike is a 1988 Suzuki DR200J.

Answer
Thomas,
I am unsure of what gears you mean exactly,
Is the engine apart and you need to
time the camshaft gear? If this is so,
you can set the piston at TDC and cam lobes
down, the mark on the cam gear should be up
and the TDC mark on the magneto should
line up. If not the cam may be out 180 degrees.
Turn it and see if the marks line up.
Be careful not to open the valves while the
piston is up, while you line it up.
