Motorcycle Repair: Harley motor oil, harley softail, motor oil

Hi I know you get asked about this all the time, but what kind of oil can i use in my 2005 harley softail deluxe. can I use 20W-50 in the crankcase. and what about the primary and tranny. do they need a differant oil. what about synthetic oil. what brand synthetic or standard and weight do you recommend.

Yes, you can use 20w50 for the motor oil. The primary takes primary oil and the trans takes trans oil.
There are certain brands of synthetic that can be used in all three. You would have to check with the manufactures on which ones.
There are many different brands out there and mostly its a personnel preference on what to use
