Motorcycle Repair: voltage gage on 2002 ultra classic, ok check, stator

Question
while riding my voltage gage goes back and forth from charge to discharge I have a new battery in the bike this year and so far it starts ok

Answer
Check at your battery and see what voltage you are running. If your voltage is going up and down then you have either a bad stator or regulator. If the voltage doesnt go up and down witht he gage then you either have a short going to the gage or a bad gage.
