Motorcycle Repair: changing throtlle grip, throttle grip, whent

2003 sportster custom  i bought new grips left one whent on easy enough is there a trick to the throtlle grip im not sure how to do this i donot have a service manual

Answer
First, lossen the adjusters tot he throttle and idle cable so you have slack in the cable. Remove the two screws that hold the cover on the throttle grip. You will see the two wires attached to the grip. Remove them and insall the new grip. Install the cover back on and adjust the cables
