QUESTION: I want to switch my 16 inch apes to 4 inch rised Z bars and i know that i will have to get new cables but i dont have any real experience with bikes. i would really like to do it myself and save 400 bucks if possible. I would really appreciate any advise or tips that i should follow or even if you think i should just take it in and get it done by professionals. thank you for your time and i hope to hear back from you. thank you again.

First get your bars and install them. Now you have to do some measuring to determine what length cables you need. you will need to remove the end cover on the trans to install the cable. Make sure you leave enough slack inthe cables for the handlebars to turn.
You will also have to lengthen the wires from the handlebars. So you will have to add length to the wires to do this.
