Motorcycle Repair: testing a coil, spark plug wires, ohm meter

Sorry Mike I do not have a Harley however, I think my question is generic. I read one of your answers to another rider indicating that the first thing you would do is test the coil and that if he needed to know how to do that you would help. Well I'm not that guy but I too need help in learning how to test my coil. I have a 1977 CB750 where I belive the one coil that supplies cylinders 2 & 3 may be failing. How can I test the coil to determine if it is defective? If you have time to advise me, I would greatly appreciate it.

You test the coil with an OHM meter. There is a primary side, (where the wires attach) and a secondary side (where the spark plug wires go). You would have to check with a Honda dealer to see how to do the test, since I only work on Harleys.
