Motorcycle Repair: 1985 FLH Clutch, throwout bearing, pushrod

Question
I'm constantly burning out my throw out bearings or breaking the pushrod forks on my 85 FL.  I'm thinking that the spring might be a heavy duty unit and may need to be replaced with a OEM part.  My concern is that HD only used the pushrod set for 2 years and my problems might be due to a bad design instead.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Answer
I would replace the spring first. Make sure you have the proper amount of oil in the trans or you will keep burning the throwout bearing.
Harley used the design for quit a few years, only the rods were different, but it was the same throwout bearing.
Good luck and happy riding
