Motorcycle Repair: cable replacement, ape hangers, clutch cable

Question
QUESTION: Have 2000 DynaFXD would I have to change all the cables in order to put Street Bob handle bar on?Any special tools required?Thanx for yer time.
ANSWER: No special tools required, just experience.  #25 and #27 torx for the switch housings.  When you change your clutch cable do yourself a favor and put in the reduced effort clutch ramps while you have the right side tranny cover off.  The two ramps only cost 12 bucks apiece.

QUESTION: I asked  a question earlier and forgot to add that the handlebar were ape hangers (street bob style)anyway the question again was  one parts person at one dealership said that I would not have to replace the cables that they should reach(throttle, throttle idle, clutch and brake)another told me that I would have to they would be too short. Can you answer this for me?Also how about the wiring? Will there need to be adjustments?2000 Dyna FXD.Thanks.

Answer
It depends how high the apes are!!! You have a limited amount of excess in the wiring.  You have to get under the seat, feed the excess of the big wiring harness into the frame hole that's way down, while pulling the other end out the left side of the frame neck by the front of the gas tank.  You have to slide the gas tank back, and don't scratch the front rocker box with the crossover tube hose clamp!!  Then snip the wire tie that holds the harness to the rubber plug that's on the RIGHT side of the frame neck.
