Motorcycle Repair: motorcycle allignment, brake rotor, spoke wheel

Question
Hi, a couple of questions for you.  I'm building a new bike and I have to offset my front wheel about 3/16 of an inch to the right of center to get the brake disc and caliper to line up.  How much will this effect the handling?  Now that the front wheel is offset from the center should I offset the rear wheel the same to keep them inline?  Offset it to the opposite side to counter it?  Or just keep it centered up where it should be originally?
Thanks for your time,
Brian

Answer
Hi Brian, You can offset the wheel or space the brake rotor out. Depending on your make and model, I really can't tell you how the handling will be affected. Also if it is a spoke wheel all you are offsetting is the hub, not the wheel. If it is a cast, then I would space the rotor instead.
