Motorcycle Repair: Honda Dream info, honda dream, restoration guides

Question
Hi, I would like to pinpoint the year my Honda was manufactured and / or sold. The frame serial number is CA78 1013949. Engine serial number is CA77 1013254. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Wes, are you sure that the the engine isn't 1039254? Generally the serial number spread between engine and frame, from the factory is around 150-300 numbers apart. Numbers you sent are about 700 apart, which could mean an engine change or just a typo in reading the numbers to me.
Double check the numbers again, just to be sure. If you are taking them from a title or paperwork they could be incorrectly transcribed. Frame numbers are down by the left footpeg bracket mount, where it attaches to the frame.

The bike is probably built in 1966, as the 1965s started out with CA78-1000001 and kept going to the end of production in 1967.

I have restoration guides available on CDROM.
