Motorcycle Repair: 81 Starter Shaft Housing, starter shaft, hell of a time

I'm having a hell of a time finding a starter shaft housing for an 81 FLT 5 speed.  Is there a newer tranny that will bolt up to my engine that I could use to solve my problem?  Pretty expensive fix for a parts problem but I'm getting desperate.

The starter shaft housing bolts to the inner primary, so changing the trans will not help, and besides you are stuck with the trans you have.
Check with shops that sell Tedds V-twin products. They have the starter shaft housing
