Motorcycle Repair: 1991 blinker wiring, d mechanic, signal wire

Question
I had a H-D mechanic install apes on my bike and afterward the blinkers didn't work. I took the tanks off an found "green" wires on both left and right side unconnected. the blinkers he installed were 3 wire and from the book diagram the old ones were 2 wire, ! seems to be the ground. The controlls have a 6 wire harness, but the bike has a 7 wire, the 7th is the unconnected "green" wire, fromthe diag. it looks to be the trigger for the turn signal
but all the wires from the controlls are hooked up? can you help me. If so  thanks much.

Answer
The problem is that your "H-D" mechanic put new style 3-wire front signals on a 2-wire bike which is not wired for it.  If you want, just eliminate the third signal wire which is probably blue and connect the other two just like the original turn signals=  left side light: the black wire plugs into the connector in the empty space between the black and blue wires from the left switch, and the violet(or black wire with a small piece of violet tape)wire plugs into the space next to the other violet wire from the left switch.  Black wire from the right side light plugs into the LEFT side connector next to the black wire from the left side light, and the brown wire(or black w/brown tape) plugs into the right side connector next to the brown wire from the right switch.  If you don't understand this tell me what model you have and I will fax you a wiring diagram.
