Motorcycle Repair: 2002 fatboy, oil tank, jackshaft

What do I need to remove to properly get to the starter to change it?  Best way?   thaks, Karen

Disconnect the battery. Your going to have to remove the primary cover and disconnect the jackshaft. The pipes will have to come off. Then you can unbolt the starter. On some bikes the oil tank has to be removed, due to the fact that there is not enough room to take the starter out.
If you are planning on doing the work yourself I would suggest you get a service manual for your bike. It will give you step by step instructions and also how to test the starter.
