Motorcycle Repair: how to test an ignition coil, heritage springer, spark plug wire

Question
I have a stock 1998 Heritage Springer, carbureted, that won't start. It ran when I put it away in the fall and when I went to start it up on the first nice day of the spring, it would not fire up. I put stable in the tank before I put it away and also changed the oil and that was about it. I kept a battery tender on it all winter so the battery is nice and strong. I think I've narrowed it down to the ignition coil but am not sure. I pulled each spark plug wire out of the coil and held it close to the contact while cranking it over and got a very faint spark jumping to the wire but it definitely wasn't anything strong like I've been used to seeing on a car ingnition system. Does this sound like a possible coil problem and if so, how can I test the coil to be sure. Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
What you need to do is remove the spark plugs and attach the wires to the plug wire and hold the plug to the head and then turn it over so see if you have a good spark.
If you are getting spark then check to see if you are getting fuel to the motor. Remove the air filter and tuning the throttle do you see gas being pumped into the carb?
