Motorcycle Repair: TT500, centrella, flat slide

I have a older TT500 dirtbike, about a 78-79 I think. I just got it from a friend and it had sat for about 15 years. I cleaned the carb and ever thing the best I could. I got it running and it runs fine but when you give it gas past 1/4 throttle it just dies, I think its running to rich but I cant seem to figure it out. It has a flat slide carb on it. Anything will help, thanks.

Hi Justin, Check to make sure the accelerator pump is feeding enough gas to the engine. Also try adjusting the mixture screw to lean it out a bit(clockwise turn to lean, counter-clockwise to richen). This is not my field, though try asking Anthony Centrella of Allexperts, if you still need more help.
