Motorcycle Repair: 75 xl bolt on hard tail, harley service, oil lines

Question
OK thanks i got it mounted, and while i have the engine to powder coat the frame i am changing oil lines and replacing some worn out parts and cleaning it up some. i have always had a pretty bad oil leak out of the front push rod covers on the bottom and i was told to make sure all the oil lines were flowing right, so i am blowing the oil passages out wih compressed air. well there is one on the crang case, and one on the cam cover. i was wondering what these two were, the one on the case itself can not be blown through, but i thought maybe because it has something to do with the oil pump. if you could tell me what these two oil hookups are, like which is the return etc. and also i was hoping to find a diagram that shows how the lines should be hooked up with an oil cooler. or if you could explain it that would be awesome. thanks alot for your help.

-----Question-----
I have a 75 xl, got a hard tail which was for bikes up to 74, figured it would fit, but i think i might have to cut the fender strut mounting portion off after the holes for the shocks. maybe grind a notch into it. wanted some feedback before i did it.

thanks

You have to be careful at times with aftermarket parts. When they say they are bolt on, sometimes you have to do some fabracation to make them work.I would bolt of on and then see how things fit and then go from there. Take your time and work slowly fitting each part. Its goingt to be hard for me to comment on what has to be done since I cant see the hardtail installed.
Good luck and happy riding

Answer
Dont worry about blowing out the lines. Your leak is probably the seals in the pushrod covers.
To install the oil cooler it runs from the return of the pump to the cooler to the oil tank.
If you are looking for a diagram you can find one in the harley service manual for your year.
