Motorcycle Repair: suzuki bandit 1200 transmission, engine oil viscosity, suzuki bandit 1200

Question
a friend has ask my help in looking at his 1200 bandit . he claims that it is stuck in gear ,depressing the clutch the bike will try to move as though the clutch is out of adjustment . releasing the clutch the bike will travel but is stuck in gear . I haven't seen it myself yet .He had talked to a dealer who said these have had trans problems and very expensive to repair. I'm hoping maybe a clutch problem or gear changing fork problem ?? I have no experience with susuki (HD rider/mech ) . Any knowledge of transmission trouble with bandit ? Any sugestions ?I hope to look at it for him next week .hoping to help him out if i can . Thanks Frank

Answer
Hi Frank,

Suzuki GSX-R, Katana, Bandit, and RF series share same engines. There's a common problem with oil lubrictaion system and clutch. This may or may not be related to your frined's MC problem.
