Motorcycle Repair: 883 sportster, carberater, fuel flow

Question
battery is charged it almost wants to start and full with gas , i found a  hose coming from maybe the carberater on the right side below it .would  that cause it to not start?

Answer
The hose you are refering to is the overflow for the carb. Unless there is gas coming out of it then its not the problem.
Start by checking to see if youhve a good spark. remove the plugs, attach one to the plug wire and hole to the head. Turn the bike over. Are you getting spark? If you are then check the fuel flow. Remove the fuel line from the carb, and with it open are you gettng fuel flow?
