Motorcycle Repair: 1100 knock, gsxr 1100, exhaust ports

dear mark!I have some motor questions? exactly how many miles can you get out a gsxr 1100 motor .Lets say that a raped ape had rode it it's whole life i mean really beat it up bad wheedle habit bad race habitant then of coarse loaned it probably to all of his buddies !! and then you see your dream someone melees take it for granite bike.and you purchase this bike you put it back together almost complete and now she's really looking good for a 90 and she runs like a dream completely and then you wake up with what at first starts like a possible exhaust leak on #1 possibly two cylinder so you pull the header 234 exhaust ports nice clean 1 very suit new gaskets all the way across new plugs she really sounds cured 2 days later a slight but distinct motor tap but with roll up acceleration a heavy knocking coming on like rocker or piston slap yet knock completely bummed need help sos my gsxr any possible insight to diagnoses much appreciated  PS those are very nice credentials definitely makes me jealous

You could save hundreds by having the work done locally. You could likely do the tear down and farm the machining out.
