Motorcycle Repair: remove baffle, exhaust ports, screaming eagle

Question
I just bought a 2007 HD SOFTTAIL DELUX
HAD screaming eagle installed however the sound is not what
I expected.  I had a 2006 Dyna wideglide which I was very pleased which also had screaming eagle mufflers.  I was told because of the restrictions they come with a baffle. Can these be removed(there appears to be a couple of screws holding the baffle) without damaging the engine.

Answer
Hey Juan,The SCREAMING EAGLE mufflers have gone through a few stages in the past, good or bad is an individuals opinion. You can remove the baffle although the the sound is probably not what you are looking for either.(and is not EPA approved)If you do this and do like the sound, definitely place torque valves(cones) in the exhaust ports. This will give some back pressure to scavenge the exhaust and help prevent burning up the valves.I will suggest going to an after market exhaust system,if sound is what you really want. Some good ones are VANCE & HINES,CYCLE SHACK,SUPERTRAPP and or REINHARTS.
