Motorcycle Repair: stuck choke, suzuki gz marauder 125, suzuki gz marauder

Question
I have a Suzuki GZ Marauder 125 and lately it has been becoming harder and harder to pull back my choke lever to start the engine.
It will only move just a few milimetres and now with the cold weather it is especially neede.
Can you help please?

Answer
Hi Ross,

Try lubricating the choke cable. Cable oilers are available from a variety of motorcycle retailers.

Check for proper cable routing. If the cable is routed improperly, twisted, or bends sharply, it may be hard to pull.

Some cables have a Teflon inner lining. Sometimes the lining peels back at the cable end making movement difficult.

Otherwise, simply replace the old cable. If you need additional assistance, contact me.
