Motorcycle Repair: cylinder head removal, gasket seal, rubber mallet

I've been fighting with a cylinder head that is stuck on my 1980 Honda cx500 i have removed the bolts and the rocker arm assembly any ideas on how i can get it off. I've bee tapping it with a rubber mallet for the last few days

Hi Chris,

If you are sure that all fasteners are removed and the mallet is not breaking the gasket seal, strike harder.

You may find a couple of pry points between the cylinder heads and the cylinder cases. Use an appropriate tool or object and pry.

Ensure the piston is not siezed in the cylinder.
