Motorcycle Repair: 1991 Radian yamaha ,revs up when warm., vacuum leaks, intake leaks

Question
My wife's radian ,when at operating temp. rev's up on her when she stops for stop sign's and traffic lights. I suspect carb float to high or intake rubber spigots may be leaking.Bike has 27,000kms in it, mechanicaly in excellent shape, she bought it this spring and really loves it except for its reving up when hot.She wouldn't let me touch it until I enquired on line. Thanks for any input on problem, GLENN.10/12/06,20:36 hrs.

Answer
Hi Glen,

Radians are reliable and fun motorcycles.

The most common causes of this symptom are vacuum leaks and carburetors out of synchronization.

Check for vacuum intake leaks around the carbs and manifolds. Check carb synchronization and adjust accordingly.
